BBC One’s ‘Three Girls’ drama raises awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation

Last week, the BBC broadcast the drama ‘Three Girls’, which addresses Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in Rochdale between 2008-2012. The programme has proven to be very uncomfortable to watch for many viewers, but it also fulfils the very important task of raising awareness of the issue of CSE. This may have prompted concerns about a young person you know or a situation within your community.

Are you worried about a child / young person?

If you are worried that a young person you know is experiencing Child Sexual Exploitation and you feel that the young person is in immediate danger please call the Police on 101, or dial 999. If you prefer not to speak to the Police, you can also contact Devon’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and get advice around your concerns (phone: 0345 155 1071, email: mashsecure@devon.gcsx.gov.uk)

If you have concerns about someone who you think may be sexually exploiting a young person or are worried about a particular location please call the Police on 101.
