Anyone who works directly with young people and is concerned with their safety and who wants to develop their knowledge and understanding of current developments in the online world.
An exciting and dynamic look at the online world and how workers can explore the technology young people use and engage with them in a way that supports them and helps them to reduce risk and build resilience.
This is a half day event delivered by South West Grid for Learning who is a world leader in online child safety, a founding member of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety as well as an advisor to Governments and the lead partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre. Delegates will hear about all aspects of the online world and how young people use and engage with the technology. The benefits and risks of social media, online gaming etc will be explored and strategies suggested for helping young people to reduce their risks and build their resilience to enable them to increase their safety. This half day event is ideal for anyone who feels they want to know more about this new world and the place it has in young people's lives today.

Number of places 50 (25 for the provider network no more than 2 from each individual organisation and 25 for multi agency workers)
No charge for attendees - £50.00 for non attendance or late cancellation - this is also the charge if there are any spare places which are taken up by organisations in excess of their two allocated places.
