The Devon Safeguarding Children Board work alongside other Local Safeguarding Children Boards within the South West Peninsula.

Devon Safeguarding Children Board works with Torbay Safeguarding Children Board, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Children Board and Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board. The South West Peninsula groups meet regularly to discuss developments within their geographical area.

SW Peninsula Child Death Overview Panel

The child death overview panel is responsible for reviewing all deaths of children aged 0-18 years who were resident across the South West Peninsula at the time of their death.  The main purpose of this panel is to identify patterns or trends and consider how such deaths might be prevented in the future.

SW Peninsula Online Safety Group

Devon Safeguarding Children Board works in partnership with the other three  South West Peninsula LSCBs to tackle the issues of online safety. It acknowledges that online safety plays a significant role in protecting children and young people from sexual exploitation. Child Sexual Exploitation

The South West Peninsula groups have agreed the South West Peninsula Child Sexual Exploitation Strategy & Protocol 2013.  The Protocol is designed to support effective collaborative safeguarding responses from all agencies when a child/young person is at risk of, or is, being sexually exploited. The protocol should be used in conjunction with the South West Child Protection Procedures

Health Advisory Group

The South West Peninsula health advisory group focuses on the development of effective safeguarding practice across all health agencies and coordinated response to Section 11 of the Children Act 2004.
